The opportunity to provide nutritious food to those in need is within our reach.
The Board of Missions and Fellowship Annual Appreciation Brunch will be followed by an In-Church Mission Trip - a community meal packing event. Harvest Pack's meal packaging events are a fun, hands-on way to make a difference and impact the lives of those suffering from hunger. In our Social Hall we will set up the equipment necessary to make thousands of Harvest Packs, each of which contains 6 servings of a vitamin-packed, rice-based protein-rich meal that can be prepared with boiling water, and mixed to taste with local spices. The pack is suitable for use by all cultures around the world, and may be distributed here in the United States, as well as in Haiti, Guatemala, Tanzania and the Philippines.
We will contribute our labor to weigh and pack the ingredients, as well as the cost of ingredients - about 25 cents per pack. We hope to have every volunteer donate $50, to make 200 packs each. You may donate (and make) more or less than this amount. Donations may be paid the day of the event.
These are energetic, fun-filled, and deeply moving events that can be done by anyone of any age.
This event is open to all age groups. Young kids with supervision could definitely participate and it's a perfect activity for upper elementary and above. Non-church members are welcome.
Sign-up sheets will be available around the Church or you can use the form below.
