Where do I go when I get there?

Our main parking lot is located directly behind the church with the closest available spots for those needing a shorter walk located on the building's side. If you find stairs to be an issue, you can use our elevator by entering through the building's side door. Just follow the signs.

Enter through the front doors and our greeters will meet and show you where to find the sanctuary. They can also assist you if you need information on restrooms, children's programs, fellowship hour or anything else. Or, just ask anyone with a name tag. We’re a friendly bunch, and we’d love to serve you.

How long is the service?

Services last about one hour.

A typical worship service includes a greeting and opening prayer, time for people to greet each other, scripture readings, silent prayer and meditation, an offering, the Lord's Prayer, a children's message, the sermon, special music and hymns, and a closing prayer. Bulletins with words and responses to help those who are unfamiliar with our worship services are available.

Communion is served the first Sunday of the month. All are invited to celebrate communion, but you can choose whether or not you wish to participate.

If you’re visiting for the first time, you’ll want to give yourself a few extra minutes to join us in fellowship after the service. You are a very important person to us! We’d love to meet you, and answer any questions you may have.

What should I wear?

Don't feel like you have to dress up. Most people wear casual attire, but you are welcome to wear whatever makes you comfortable.

Can I attend if I'm _________?

Whatever fear you have about not being accepted: divorced, single parent, broke, recovering addict, gay, transgender, atheist, skeptic, etc., know that everyone is welcome at the United Church of Christ, Southbury. So come as you are, and we’ll see you on Sunday!
