We are excited to share with you our vision for transforming our beloved church into a space that beautifully blends our rich historical heritage with a fresh, modern aesthetic. Our goal is to create an inviting and inclusive environment that resonates with both our long-standing parishioners and younger generations.
Throughout this project, we are carefully reviewing every space within our church, seeking opportunities to enhance functionality, comfort, and visual appeal. We understand the importance of preserving our historical roots, and our team is dedicated to honoring the architectural charm and significance of our building. |
By updating our spaces, we aim to create an atmosphere that reflects our vibrant and diverse community. Our focus is on creating a welcoming environment that caters to the needs and preferences of all who walk through our doors. We are particularly attentive to ensuring that our church becomes a place where all will feel connected, engaged, and inspired.
The revitalization project encompasses a range of improvements, including updated paint, upgraded seating arrangements, and the integration of modern technology without compromising the integrity of our historical features. We are also exploring ways to optimize the use of our spaces for various activities and events, fostering a sense of community and facilitating meaningful connections among our congregation.
We invite you to join us on this exciting journey of transformation as we strive to create a church that embraces both tradition and progress. Stay tuned for updates and get involved in shaping the future of our church. Together, we can build a space that honors the past while embracing the present and future.

Vision building Committee work overview faith in action: planning for our future
PHASE ONE- Establish Committee, Rethink Office Area Utilization, Clean-up and Paint (June/ July, 2023)
The Committee has met four times, during which we began to establish a committee structure, assessed what resources we needed to get started, and began to organize how to best communicate and include the congregation. Before the Committee was voted in by Church Council, Shawn had asked a small group of people working on the Youth Room to initiate a much needed clean-up and revitalization of the Office Area, including the Communications Room, Main Office, Sitting Area, and the Entrance outside the Nursery. This is the administrative hub of the church, and upgrades here will make it more welcoming for visitors, as well as help the work of the church to be more effective and efficient for professional staff, Boards and Committees.
Please note: This Committee is working closely with Boards and Committees. Buildings and Grounds, Trustees, Memorial, and Missions were consulted before changes were made.
The Communications Room
This will serve as a church-wide conference room.
What’s been done: Communications Room has been cleared of items no longer being used, Music filing cabinets have been moved to Donald’s office in Room 101, conference table has been rotated to fit better in the space. The mailboxes have been moved to the other side of the room, where additional storage and filing space is being made available. Right now this room has been given a fresh coat of paint (paint chosen from Benjamin Moore historic color palette). A wall mounted TV monitor will be added for Zoom and presentations. In the next month, the copier will be moved to the back of the Main Office. There are some electrical and tech changes that need to be made for that move to happen.
Main Office
What’s been done: The extra desk in the back of the Office has been removed, Carla cleaned and reorganized the cabinets. The Office has received a fresh coat of paint.
Hallway, Sitting Area just outside the Main Office, and the Entryway at the Nursery
Improvements here will make these areas more welcoming and less cluttered.
What’s been done: Swinging doors have been removed to provide safer and easier access, walls/trim and doors have gotten a fresh coat of paint (colors chosen from Benjamin Moore Historic color palette).
To Be Done: New seating and tables will be chosen for the sitting area, a coffee maker for welcoming visitors will go on the countertop, the old and broken countertop will be replaced. A TV monitor streaming digital church information will replace the bulletin board on the front wall of the Main Office. New signage will be placed on the wall outside of the nursery.

PHASE TWO - PLANNING FOR THE FUTURE
Phase Two will include a Short-term and Long-term Conceptual Phase with church-wide Town
Hall meetings, discussions and dialogue for the revitalization of all church spaces.
The First Town Hall is scheduled for Sunday, August 27th, right after Worship. Our first Town Hall meeting will feature:
A. Why is this Building vision project important
B. What is the Church’s short-term and long-term vision C. Rethinking our building spaces to align with our vision D. How the congregation can be involved and help
Please plan to attend!
Over the coming months, through additional collaboration and dialogue with the congregation, the Committee will work to further develop ideas to provide recommendations on the next steps. Our goal would be in early 2024 to have more detailed recommendations and project investment details.
The Vision Building Committee will provide frequent church-wide communication, including rolling out a designated Vision Building email for the congregation to share their input, comments and questions.
A priority for Phase Two will be to evaluate each space, how they are currently being used, determine how to best use each space for current and future programs/activities. Moving forward, most rooms should have the ability to be multi-use spaces. In addition, we will address how to nurture our current ministries and programs, while also making room for establishing new ones. Ultimately, it will be important to determine what changes are needed to make our building more inviting to a wider range of our congregation and the community.
With God’s help, we will bring together our congregation’s many talents and gifts as we move forward on our faith journey to Do Love, Invite the Next Generation and Be Faithful Stewards of our resources.
