Reaching the next generation

UCC Southbury is dedicated to nurturing and engaging youth and families in our community. We recognize that investing in the next generation is vital for the growth and sustainability of our church.

To support this commitment, we have implemented various initiatives and enhancements. Our newly designed youth room provides a dedicated space for pre-teens and teenagers to gather, connect, and explore their faith in a safe and inspiring environment. Equipped with modern amenities and technology, it facilitates meaningful discussions, learning, and fellowship.
We have expanded our youth programming to cater to diverse interests and needs. This includes a youth choir and a teen worship band, allowing young musicians to express their faith through music. We also offer engaging and age-appropriate youth groups led by Associate Pastor Ellie Strathdee, fostering community and spiritual growth for middle and high school students.

To meet the needs of parents and families, we continually evaluate our programming and spaces. Family-focused events, community lecture series, and intergenerational activities strengthen community bonds and enrich family life.

We are actively developing additional programming, including parenting workshops, mentorship opportunities, community service projects, and outdoor adventures for families.

Join us in our mission to cultivate a vibrant, inclusive, and nurturing community that empowers our youth and families. Together, we can create a place where everyone feels valued and supported.
Mission That Invites
Faithful Stewardship
Kids are a big deal to God, so they're a big deal to us,
and we take our responsibility to nurture and uplift our children seriously.

The mission of all UCCS youth programs is to encourage and support the innate joy and curiosity of our youth as they learn about themselves, develop a love of community, an appreciation of their own talents, and respect for others.
